William "ROB"ert MCQUISTON, Jr.
Rob was born in Wenatchee, Washington on September 19, 1944, to William and Marilou McQuiston and passed away peacefully on September 9, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cheryl Prpich McQuiston, daughter, Melissa Oseran (David), grandsons, Keaton and Baker Oseran, sister Lynn McQuiston-Fall (David), niece, Hilary, nephew, Owen McQuiston-Fall and brother, Tom McQuiston (Renelle). He is also survived by Justin, Nicole and Blythe Knight, Melissa "Missy" Dailey and Sara Higgason...children from other families that were his children of the heart. Preceeded in death by his parents and daughter Meghan.
Rob, a longtime resident of Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood, grew up in Tustin, California, graduated from Tustin High School, moving to Seattle in 1965 to attend Burnley Art School (now Seattle Art Institute). He graduated with an Associate Art Degree after a hiatus to serve in the United States Army, stationed in Germany.
He spent the majority of his 35 year career in Motion Picture Advertising for Sterling Recreation Organization, LeStrange and Associates and Terry Hines & Associates. After he retired in 2007, he started McQ Painting and Creative Surfaces, as his first love was painting and creating.
Rob was one in a million. He enjoyed life to its fullest and had few regrets. He loved family, friends, wine, golf, cooking, eating, playing, his classic car and trips to Maui which will be his final resting place.
This amazing, sweet, creative and talented man will be missed by so many. Rob left an impression on whomever he met and he will never, ever be forgotten. We love you Wob!
A Celebration of his Life will be on Sunday, September 22, 2013 beginning at 11:00am at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club, 6413 Seaview Ave. N.W. Seattle where we will drink great wine, eat good food, laugh and remember our amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Aloha and/or golf attire encouraged.
Our heatfelt thanks to Dr. David White, Dr Henry Li and all the nurses and staff at the PolyClinic and Swedish Hospital that supported us through this last year. He never complained...he just fought to win the battle and always with a smile.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 123 NW 36th Street #100 Seattle 98107 www.lls.org/waystohelp/donate/
