Shoreline, WA
Age 84, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, peacefully passed away July 22, 2017.
Born December 31, 1932 in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of Robert Mark Hitch II and Margery Walker Hitch, Virginia was the epitome of a Southern Belle.
Even though she moved from Savannah in 1965 to the West coast, she never lost her Southern charm or endearing Southern accent. She attended The Pape School, Emma Willard and Vassar College graduating with a degree in English. She spent her early twenties working for Time-Life in New York City and was always looking for a new adventure, traveling to countless places with many different friends and family. She spent much of her later life working as a dedicated Windermere Real Estate Realtor for over 20 years, turning clients into life-long friends along the way. Her laugh and smile were contagious and abundant and her joie de vivre was a gift in the many lives she touched. She adored being on the water whether it be boating in the San Juan Islands with her family or crabbing & fishing with her dear friend Larry. She spent countless hours with her 7 grandchildren whom she cherished who knew her as "Mamie".
She was a lifelong supporter of the arts, particularly the Ballet and Symphony. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, David King Bryant.
She is survived by her daughters, Isabelle Bryant Ochsner (John), Marci Bryant (Stane Johnson); grandchildren, Ashley Ochsner, Johnny Ochsner, David Ochsner, Brig Johnson, Reese Johnson, Jennifer Bryant and Alex Bryant; and sister, Margery Hitch Barroll (Larry) of Savannah, GA; and several dear friends all of whom will miss her tremendously. A very special thank you to all of her many wonderful caregivers at Cristawood Retirement Community.
