Victor (Tony) Angelo Manca
Born April 10, 1933 in Seattle, passed away at the age of 82 years, on September 3, 2015.
He lived a full life surrounded by family and friends. He grew up on Queen Anne and mainly Capitol Hill, attended St. Anne's and St. Joseph's grade schools, Seattle Prep H.S. class of 1950, and attended Seattle University before graduating from UCLA in 1954. He served two years as a U.S. Army officer. He was known for his work at Frederick & Nelson for many years as Food Division Manager. He also worked in sales at Weisfields and Manca Imports. For the last 30 years he devoted his time and energy to his real estate investments. He was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, especially enjoying coaching his children's grade school sports teams. He had been a talented pitcher throughout his grade school, high school and college years, and sports always remained a primary interest, especially his Seattle Mariners.
He was happiest surrounded by his family and when he was near his grandchildren, yet also loved traveling to many destinations with his true love, Katie. They were longtime Magnolia residents, also enjoying many memorable years at the family beach cabin on Vashon Island and of course numerous road trips in the old red station wagon.
Tony was married to Kathy (Humes) for 57 years and was blessed with 4 children, Anthony, John (Trina) Joe (Erin), and Angela Gardner (Bill). Also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Austin (Shay), Jarrett, Brandon, Luke, Grace, Sam, Molly, Michael, Jack, Brooke, Will and Lucy; and 2 great grandchildren, Ronan and Milana. His 3 siblings all live in the Seattle area, DeeDee Kneeshaw, MaryAnne Abel and Chuck Manca. His parents were Angelo and Adella Manca, also of Seattle.
His motto in life was "work hard, play hard, pray hard". His faith in God was of utmost importance to him. His smile, humor and generosity will be greatly missed.
