Theodoric "Tedric" Joseph Mintu Evangelista

–

Seattle, WA

June 28, 2021 Theodoric (Tedric or "T-Roc") Joseph Mintu Evangelista passed away peacefully at the age of 47 after fighting esophageal cancer for over 18 months.

Tedric was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on March 19th, 1974. The son of Carolina Mintu Evangelista and Teodoro Iliscupidez Evangelista. Growing up his passion for the outdoors seamlessly led him to becoming an accomplished Eagle Scout. He was always busy playing sports and doing something, anything to stay in motion. In High School he was showcased as a track star as unquestionably the fastest person in the school year after year. One might even say fast as the wind. Like Tedric did his whole life, he drove himself to be the best... In his senior year, in addition to basketball and track, he was a Running Back, Kick Returner, and Defense Back on the 1992-93 Pikeville High School Football team which made it to state championship game. His accomplishments/accolades on 1 year of High School football led him to play at the college level at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Tedric graduated from Carson Newman in 1998. He even spent a short time playing semi pro football for the Goldsboro Bulldogs in North Carolina.

After football Tedric reunited with his cousin from childhood and for the next 12 years help build Buffalo Wild Wings as a staple in Greenville, NC while also expanding stores across Eastern NC.

Tedric always had a passion for flying and started his first flights while still in High School. Tedric followed his dreams becoming a Private Flight Instructor and attending ATP flight school to become a commercial/multi engine rated pilot. Traveling the country, he accumulated over 900 hours in the sky giving private lessons and scenic tours. In 2012 He moved to Seattle to be closer to his brother and his family where Tedric continued giving flying lessons for a few more years. Tedric also had a passion for all sports, so when he got a job selling tickets for the Seattle Mariners he already found a little slice of heaven. His work led him to Boeing Field, Seattle Lighting, Seattle Mariners and Cupcake Royale building lasting relationships with his coworkers. Tedric known to frequent many establishments across Ballard and Fremont...an infectious and contagious smile that made you to want to be around him.

Tedrics family first mentality embodied selflessness. He is forever loved and missed greatly by all of his family. While he left us too soon, Tedric's legendary kindness, courage and strength will live on with family and friends that loved him.

Tedric is survived by his Brother Jay Evangelista, sister in law Kirsten Evangelista; Nephews Jayden Evangelista and Jackson Evangelista, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is proceeded by his mother, Carolina Mintu Evangelista and his father, Teodoro Iliscupidez Evangelista.
