Sean Michael Callahan

–

Seattle, WA

Sean Michael Callahan, 22 years old, of Gig Harbor, WA, passed away on December 9th, 2022. Sean was born on October 10th, 2000. He attended Harbor Montessori, Lighthouse Christian School, and Kopachuck Middle School. He graduated from Gig Harbor High School in 2019. As a child, he played Harbor soccer, Little League baseball, and was a varsity diver in high school. His paintball birthday parties were legendary. His hobbies included golf, video games, and spending time with his friends and family. Sean has been working since he was 15. His most recent job for the last three years was at Papa Murphy's in Gig Harbor. He was a hard-worker and loved being with his coworkers. Sean obtained his Associate of Arts degree and Emergency Medical Technician certificate at Tacoma Community College with a goal to attend the Radiology Tech program.

As a young man, Sean was a funny, sharp-witted dude. He always had a comeback and lit up the room with his smile. He could be goofy, like driving around with a magnetized drink cup on the roof of his car, just so he could watch people point and laugh. He didn't care about status or materialism. He was shy, modest, and didn't seek to be the center of attention. Instead, he was compassionate and caring towards others, always being the person that people could go to. He was a fiercely loyal friend, yet wasn't afraid to tell you what you needed to hear. He was a safe space, who always made you feel accepted and loved, judgement-free. Sean had a special connection with animals and cuddled and played with his dogs every chance he got. He had a sharp intellect and was passionate about his interests and hobbies, always feeding his inquisitive mind. He was teaching himself Japanese and Spanish and was capable of anything he put his mind to.

As a son and a big brother, Sean never let a day go by where he didn't hug us and tell us that he loved us. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, and we will always cherish our short time with him and live our lives to honor him.

Sean is survived by his father and mother, Kevin and Rebecca Callahan, and his sisters, Aubrey and Shaelyn, of Gig Harbor. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in both Washington and Michigan.

A Celebration of Life in his memory will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2pm at the Discovery Baptist Church, 4902 Gustafson Dr. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. A reception will be held on site immediately afterwards. [Overflow parking available across the street in Harbor Covenant Church parking lot]
