Phyllis J. Gjerstad

Phyllis J. Powers was born January 16, 1923 to Fred C. and Nellie I. Powers in Enumclaw, WA, growing up in Enumclaw and later in Seattle. She worked many years as a secretary and teacher's aide. In 1949, she married Millard "Bill" Gjerstad. She devoted her life to her 6 loving children and made a warm, welcoming home. She was a devout Catholic and very active in the church until recently. She is preceded in death by her husband, Millard Gjerstad in 1981; daughter, Mary Dominica Ramsey in 2004; daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Wylie in 2012. She is survived by her brother, Alfred Powers of Sumner, WA; sons, Joe (Rande), Michael, Pete and Laurence; grandchildren, Paul Kelso, Thea Gjerstad, Bill Gjerstad, Bryan Taylor, Sarah and Rebecca Wylie; 5 great grandchildren, one niece, 2 nephews, many friends and other close family members.
