Patricia A. MARTIN

Born May 1, 1925 in Wallace, Idaho; passed away peacefully August 9, 2016 at her home in Edmonds.

Survived by her children, Jerry (Ruthann), Frank (Kristi), Patrick, Michael (Roberta), Maureen Wright (Kevin), and Teresa Flor (Tom); and 15 grandchildren.
Preceded in death in 2013 by Frank, her loving husband of 63 years.

Patricia was an only child. She was born and raised in Mullan, Idaho a small mining town. She enjoyed singing and dancing in her early years and often performed locally. Her summers were spent managing the Mullan pool where she was a popular lifeguard and swim instructor.

She attended Washington State University and graduated in 1947 with a degree in Sociology. She loved her time at Washington State where she wrote a Fashion Column for the paper, performed modern dance and was President of her dorm. She began her career in Spokane where she worked for the Welfare Department.

On November, 11, 1948 she married her college sweetheart, Frank Martin. Frank and Pat were married for 63 years. They raised 6 children and were thrilled to have 15 grandchildren. Their first great-grand baby is expected this fall.

Pat and Frank raised their family in Seattle, WA, where they were active in St. Catherine's Parish. Pat sang in the choir at St. Catherine's for many years, and was active in the Mothers Club and enjoyed many great social events. Pat loved to travel and she and Frank visited many countries, spending a great deal of time in China. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and visited Ireland many times. She was a lifelong Cougar fan and an original and ongoing Seahawks ticket holder. She enjoyed the opera and theater with her dear friend Patricia Robbins.

Pat was active in the Martin family business and worked in the accounting office right up to her death. She actually died on a Tuesday, which is the day she takes off each week.

Pat's passing leaves an incredible void in the lives of her
family and friends.

We take great comfort knowing that she is reunited with Frank and so many friends and family members.
