Nancy "Nonnie" Marie (Micheli) Moriarty Obituary (1937 - 2022)

Nancy was born and raised in Seattle to Dan and Rena Micheli. She was a lifelong resident of Queen Anne Hill and an active member of St. Anne Parish. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1955 and studied nursing at Seattle University, but her plans changed when she met Edmund Moriarty, the love of her life. Her only desire then was to raise a large wonderful family. They married in 1958 and delightfully welcomed eight children. "Nonnie" as she became known was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage, in fact she believed a drizzle of good olive oil could cure any ailment whether on your food or rubbed on your skin. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother - no one loved a baby more. In her home, the door was always open, often with hot delicious soup or her famous white pasta on the stove to share. Food was an extension of her love. She cooked to feed the body and soul - her food was comforting, healing and delicious! Her infamous weekly Sunday family dinners were cherished by a small contingency of 35 plus drop in's. She credited her husband and the Lord for her many blessings. She had a strong devotion to Our Lady, loved attending Mass, saying the Rosary and working tirelessly for the less fortunate. While her family is heartbroken, we are thrilled that she has been reunited with her beloved husband Ed and her parents Dan and Rena. She leaves behind her brother Louie Micheli (Diane); her children, Barbara Cathey (Bart), Linda Dato, Danny (Lori), Eddie (Cindy), Kenny (Bridget), Mario (Jenny), Joey (Lynn) and Tim (Theresa); her grandchildren; Meagan (Brandon), Alexa (Gabe), Chris (Amanda), Jake (Alex), Tess, Kelly, Madeline, Katie, Nick, Ashley, JP, Bella, Ally, Amber, Owen, Mason, and Vinnie: and great grandchildren, Makena, Koa and Leo; and the many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved so much. Please join us as we celebrate the life of an amazing woman with the Recitation of the Rosary, Friday, September 9th at 11am and her Funeral Mass immediately following both at St. Anne Catholic Church 1401 1st Ave. West, Seattle.
