Mitchell (Mitch) George Beatty Obituary (1949 - 2021)

Mitch was born in Seattle, Washington. He was the second oldest child of six. A lifelong Seattle area resident, he grew up in the Fremont neighborhood. He attended St. Benedict's Catholic grade school, Lincoln High School, and graduated from the University of Washington. Mitch is survived by children Jeff, Kristin and Ryan. Son in law Matt, and Daughter in law Vanessa. Grandchildren Mira and Serene. Brothers Ray, Kevin, Brad and sister Darlene. Preceded in death by father George, mother Leona and brother Doug. Always a family man first. Mitch truly enjoyed it when his kids would swing by, or when he was on one of his regular calls with his siblings. He ensured that his children received a great education. He passed along great values and led by example. His children are true reflections of who he was as a father and who he was as a person. Always welcoming to everyone he met. He was well liked and respected by all. Mitch spent his entire career working for Boeing. For 40 years, he was managing finances and budgeting. He was certainly a hard worker and strived to get where he was professionally. He also instilled upon others that hard work paid off. But Mitch worked so that he could enjoy life to its fullest. He definitely accomplished this. After retiring he enjoyed camping, golfing, spoiling his grandkids and spending Fall and Winters at his second home in Indio California. Indio was his paradise! He loved sitting out in the desert heat on his patio having cocktails with his friends. Or golfing with his buddies laughing the entire way around the course, but never keeping score. He was certainly a family man and lived to spend time with them all. Mitch was a devoted Catholic and lived a life of service. He was always willing to volunteer his services to the church. He was parish treasurer, church usher, and administrator of the adoration program to name a few. He spent a lot of his time studying, praying and practicing the teachings of the Church. He was a constant servant of Christ. Mitch will be laid to rest at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline Washington. A celebration of life will follow as circumstances will hopefully soon allow.
