Marianna "Mary" DeDonker Obituary (1929 - 2016)

Mary DeDONKER - MiMi Mary passed away peacefully at the age of 87 surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born March 22, 1929 in Mandan, North Dakota and died October 24, 2016. She was one of seventeen children and the last surviving sibling of the Wirtz Family. She was the most loving mother to her four children, Michelle Oaksmith (Steve), Terri Kepler (Jerry), Sandy Baptie (Ken), Mike DeDonker (Candace). Mary was blessed with 12 beautiful grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who all adored their MiMi. She was preceded in death by Buck, her wonderful husband of 56 years; and her loving daughter, Terri. She and Buck spent 56 great years together both loving and enjoying life to the fullest. She took amazing care of her husband during his health struggles with cancer and Alzheimers. After he passed her health began to decline, facing stage 4 colon cancer, breast cancer twice, leg amputation and the list goes on. Mary never let anything get her down. She was a fighter and the most positive person on earth. She was a walking miracle and beat all odds, leaving her doctors in awe. They just shook their heads. Needless to say she had a direct path to heaven. Her faith, family and friends were the most important things in her life. Camano Island and Palm Springs were her favorite getaways. Mary always had a warm smile and could carry on a conversation with anyone. She loved people. She never let a day go by without saying what a beautiful life God had blessed her with. Loved by everyone, Mary has touched many people in her lifetime and will be missed by all, but her memory will live in our hearts forever.
