Margaret "Marg" Georgina (Roncoli) Hale Obituary (1928

Age 83, born June 1, 1928, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2011. Loving wife, mother and sister, she is survived by her husband Nathan and children, Sharon (David) Kennedy, Kathleen (Trip) Dessert, Denise (Chris) Picinich, Diane (Randy) Wong, Jon (Julie) Hale, and Patricia (Paul) Kreemer, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by her siblings Mary (Owen) Koch, Thomas (Karin) Roncoli, Gloria (Kenneth) Morris and Pete (Inge) Roncoli, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Michael N. Hale. A first generation American, Margaret was born in Ann Arbor, MI the third of five children to Charles and Claudina Roncoli. After high school she met and married her beloved Nathan on May 28, 1949. In the early years she worked, helping to put Nate through school while also raising two children. Moving to Saginaw in 1957, she became a full time homemaker. Venturing on in life, she and Nate packed the wagon and moved west to Seattle in 1964 where they continued raising their large family of 7 children. After nearly emptying the nest Margaret went to work at The Boeing Company from which she retired in 1989. Margaret was vibrant, kind, loving and her own person. Her family was paramount in her life. Mom loved outdoor and athletic activities such as family basketball games, campouts, and gardening; she was the original soccer mom, keeping statistics and score at many sporting events. She and Nate spent every evening one summer installing the landscaping for Our Lady of Guadalupe church, the parish in which they were very active. She embraced civil rights and women's rights early on and she was an ardent war protester, post WW11. Margaret exemplified commitment and a highlight in her life was the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary with all of her children and family. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all. Viewing services on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Howden-Kennedy Funeral Home 3909 SW Alaska St. Seattle, Washington 98116. Private graveside burial following. Margaret benefited from many charities as a child and her most remembered is the Salvation Army Send a Kid to Camp program. She never forgot and supported this program for many years. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to this or any of your favorite charities.
