Lynn Nguyen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lynn Nguyen on June 17, 2026. Born in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on April 15, 1947, Lynn moved to Seattle, Washington, where she lived a life full of love, compassion, and a remarkable commitment to nurturing those around her. As Mother Teresa once said, "It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving," and Lynn imbibed this in her life.

A talented chef, Lynn served up not just meals but moments of joy and unity. She retired in Portland, OR, but her love for cooking never retired with her. Thoughtful and generous, Lynn believed that no one should ever be left hungry, and she made sure everyone was always fed and full. She had a particular fondness for buying her grandchildren new clothes, taking care of everyone, and celebrating Vietnamese New Year with her family. In the kitchen, she was a maestro, her cooking sessions transforming into symphonies of flavors. Her generosity extended beyond her family, as she nurtured her community with her culinary prowess and her loving heart.

Lynn was a widowed mother to six beautiful children: Phuongmai Vo, Thien Nguyen, Tung Nguyen, Jennifer Nguyen, Jenny Nguyen, and Tam Nguyen. She leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity, embodied in her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bom Nguyen and Nen Phan, and her loving husband, Duc Nguyen, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms in the next life.

As we mourn the loss of Lynn, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led, full of love, generosity, and a relentless spirit to take care of others.
