Loraine Estelle Mcdonell Obituary (1924

Loraine passed away May 3, 2009 after a series of recent and sudden health set-backs from which she was unable to overcome. She was born July 22, 1924 in Seattle to Carl and Beulah Manning. After graduating from Franklin High School she joined the war effort serving as a member of the all female navy corp known as the WAVES. Shortly after returning to Seattle from her travels with the service she met and married her beloved husband Lyman S. McDonell. They were married for 34 years until his untimely death in 1983. Never remarrying and steadfastly independent for her remaining 26 years she was always quick with a laugh and a smile and her greatest joy came from being with friends and especially her family. Loraine never had an unkind word for anyone and always wished the best for those she knew and loved. She will be greatly missed by her son Stephen (Kristine and her daughter Kirsten), their son Jeffrie; son Brian (Kristin) and all those whose lives she touched. Services to be held at Acacia Memorial Park, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle May 9, at 3 pm.
