Laurena Marie Black, born February 24, 1942 in Helena, Montana; died September 24, 2023 in Redmond, Washington. Laurie was the daughter of Stanley Carter Black and Aileen Loretta Moody. She is survived by her husband, Paul Bride; daughter, Misty DeSoto and partner Cal Christensen; grandson, Harley Christensen; brothers and sisters, Alice Petro, Mickey Choate (Marilyn), Garry Choate (Sue), and Becky Sandoval (Gil). Laurie grew up in Sidney, Montana, where she was known as an outstanding student and talented musician. The friendships formed in her school days remained important to her throughout her life. She came to Seattle to work for Boeing where she had a decades long career, marked by international recognition for her work in telecommunications standards. No services are planned.
