Katherine (Kay) Rolstad

–

Seattle, Washington

November 13, 1924 - May 10, 2010

Kay, as she became known to everyone except her family, who always called her Agatha, was born and raised on a farm in Plain, Wisconsin. She was the eldest of fifteen and is survived by eleven siblings.

Kay met her future husband, Allan Rolstad, at a USO dance. It wasn't long after that she followed him to his Louisiana assignment where they married.

After the war Kay and Allen moved to the Northwest where his family had recently migrated from South Dakota. The family settled in South Seattle where they raised nine children. Six children survive: Shirley (Harold), Joyce, Jerry (Dena), Carolyn (James), Debby (Dan) and Tammy (Ken). She leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great grandchild. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Mabel Aide, and dear friend, Marie.

After retiring, she mowed her lawn on her riding mower and worked in her flower gardens until her 80's when it became physically impossible. She joins her husband who died in 1983.
