Karen Louise Dever

–

Seattle, Washington

July 30, 1971 to September 5, 2025

At age 54, on September 5th, Karen Louise Dever peacefully left this earth to join her family members in heaven. Karen was born in Seattle and grew up on Capitol Hill. She attended St. Therese School and Roosevelt High School.

Friday, July 30, 1971, the last child of Rose and George Dever, Karen entered this world as a miracle in her family.  As she grew up, her smile and ability to make people feel joy and laughter grew.  She and her sister Amy were particularly close.  Amy was born one year before Karen.  They shared a bond being the last two born into the Dever family.  She was truly loved by all her brothers and sisters.  Thomas had a little trouble because he was hoping for a boy but later could be seen playing in the crib with Karen and thus grew a strong bond.  Each of her siblings loved her with all their hearts.

On December 30, 1995, another miracle occurred in her life, the birth of her daughter, Ashley Nicole.  She was Karen’s pride and joy.  We, as a family, got the privilege of bonding with our niece as she spent a lot of time at grandma’s house with her mom.  The love in Karen’s life just kept growing.

Karen was born into this world and left this world in grace and love.  Thank you to the University Washington for the expert care in the ICU.  She was treated with the utmost dignity, integrity, and compassion by the doctors, nurses, and staff.  We celebrate the miracles in Karen’s passing, being able to attend to Karen and her daughter and all six of her siblings here on earth were able to hold her and pray over her as she peacefully left this earth to go to an eternal peace in Heaven.  She now is in the loving care of God and able to be held in Mom’s, Dad’s, and her brother Thomas’s arms.  May she have the needed rest and eternal love she always deserved.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Ashley, and her sisters and brother, Barbara, Deborah, Susan, Jennifer, Steven, and Amy. She loved her nieces and nephews, Joe, Erin, Stefanie, Bryan, Chloe, Miranda, Valerie, Molly, Ellette, Carmen, Lucy, and Kevin, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents Rose and George Dever, brother Thomas,  brothers-in-law Bob Fisher, Joel Bernstein, and nephew Robert Fisher. She had aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. There was never a day that passed without a loving thought or feeling for Karen from all those who loved her, especially her daughter, brother and sisters.

May God grant her eternal rest, peace, and love, and may perpetual light shine upon her.
