Preceded in death by his daughter, Christine, in 2011, his son, Paul, in 2014; and his loving wife, Laura, in 2016.
Bob was born in Portland, and raised there and in southern California. The family moved to Seattle in the late 30's and here he lived a faith-filled life as he attended Seattle Prep and later matriculated to Seattle College where he studied chemical engineering. He interrupted his studies to enlist in the Army in 1942, arriving in Normandy, France D+90 days, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and eventually was honorably discharged as a corporal to return home in 1946. He met Laura Lee Shannon as the two were members of the North End Social Club at Blessed Sacrament in Seattle and they were married on September 11, 1948. Bob completed his Chemical Engineering degree in 1949 at Seattle University and went on to graduate studies at the Univ. of Washington. He started out working for the Monsanto Chemical Co. in Seattle for 5 years but soon took a job in Richland in 1956 to work at the Federal Government Hanford Nuclear Project. Bob worked as a licensed engineer in chemical and nuclear engineering for over 40 years, ending his career in Las Vegas, NV where he retired in 1991. Bob and Laura remained in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle and later Bothell where they spent their days attending St. Bridget (Seattle) and St. Brendan (Bothell) parishes, playing bridge as often as possible, and enjoying time with their grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bob was a man of great faith, sacrifice, and devotion to the church and also was a strong and loyal advocate for adults with special needs. The family asks for your continued prayers.
