Shoreline, WA
Jeannette was born July 14, 1943 in Seattle and raised by her parents Frank and Genevieve Eeckhoudt in their Ballard home. She died June 7, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She grew up with her siblings John, Jim and Judy, and surrounded by a loving extended family of aunts, uncles and many cousins. She graduated from Blanchet High School and from the University of Washington with degrees in Psychology and Business Administration.
She spent the past 29 years with her life partner Joan Wong in their Shoreline home. She was devoted to Joan and Joan's daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth, and loved being a grandma to their children James, Julia and Nicholas, who fondly called her "Juju."
An avid outdoors enthusiast, Jeannette spent much of her retirement years traveling with her close-knit group of fly fishing and bird watching friends. She also remained close to her group of best friends from high school and continued to get together with them annually.
Jeannette was a kind and loving person who was devoted to her family and friends. She was a lifelong scholar and pursued her many interests with a passion. She will be remembered for her love of travel, nature and wildlife photography. She was most at home by a trout stream or next to a campfire with her friends. She enjoyed life and will be missed by many.
Jeannette is survived by her life partner, Joan Wong; Joan's children, Jennifer Pitzer (Noah) and Elizabeth Wong (Eric Adler); and grandchildren, James, Julia and Nicholas; her siblings, James Michael Eeckhoudt and Judy Ratner (Howard); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother, John.
