Heloise "Jackie" Jacquelyn Teichmann Obituary (1939 - 2022)

Heloise Jacquelyn TEICHMANN, Better known to all as Jackie, Heloise Jacquelyn Teichmann (nee Rider) was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 22, 1939. She died on August 26, 2022 in Seattle, Washington, reuniting with her beloved husband of 55 years, Thomas Teichmann. Jackie is survived by her three daughters Kerri (and husband Thomas Specker) of Los Angeles, CA, Tami (and husband Stephen Ferrando) of Carlsbad, CA, and Amy (and husband Klane White) of Denver, CO. She was the proud grandmother and great grandmother to: Darren Roy, and his children Kalla and Phoenix; Anthony Ferrando, and his children Viviane and Richard; Nicholas Ferrando; Terese Specker; and Madeline and Susannah White. Jackie graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1957 on the Paper Queen Court as reigning Poot Root (Sweet Potato) Queen, and attended Southeastern Louisiana College. After meeting Tom while watching an LSU game in the fall of 1959, a whirlwind romance ensued, and the two married six weeks later. Moving with her young family to Mississippi then Northern California in 1961, Jackie and Tom settled into their home on Gregory Lane in Huntington Beach in 1968. Under Jackie's care, the Teichmann household became famous for its blooming gardens, family weddings, and top-notch Cajun cooking. After raising her three daughters, Jackie developed a career championing local non-profit causes where she became renowned for her tireless work ethic, prolific fundraising skills, and advocacy for children's health. In 2013 she and Tom relocated to the Pacific Northwest to spend their golden years, although she never lost touch with her love for the golden state. A woman of many passions, Jackie trained for marathons, sewed special creations for each of her grandchildren, and demonstrated expert french-braiding skills - all while chatting on the phone with friends. Filled with boundless energy, Jackie was known for her taste for fast cars (which very quickly needed expensive repairs), penchant for running marathons and later marathon walks around town, swimming year-round in the bay, and her unmatched ability to embrace the latest trends. She endeared herself to all who knew her with her Southern charm, unending generosity and subsequent readiness to open heart and home to family, friends, and strangers alike. A doting wife, devoted mother, and beloved matriarch, she will be greatly missed.
