Francis "Fritz" Lowell Orth Obituary (1918

Francis "Fritz" Lowell Orth, long time West Seattle resident, peacefully passed on September 14, 2010. He was born in Bowen Township near Cogswell, North Dakota on November 21, 1918 in the family home and was one of eight siblings born to Alvin and Mary (Kapaun) Orth. Fritz came to Seattle during the war years to work at Boeing. His fiancAC.s Shirley Lois Bosse also from North Dakota followed shortly after and they were married on February 6, 1943. Four children followed soon after. Patricia Diane (Sam Centioli), Robert Douglas (Catherine Smart), Carol Louise (John Kane), Barbara Ann (David Rogers). Shirley preceded Fritz in death in 1990. He worked at Boeing for a few years and then in sales at Nalley's Fine Foods. He enjoyed sales and decided to go into the grocery business with Dick Biddle. They bought and operated Tip Top Foods in West Seattle for many years. Fritz then went to work for the King County Assessors Office working in personnel. He retired from the county in the early 80's. He then enjoyed many volunteer opportunities and traveling with Shirley. Over the years Fritz was blessed and enjoyed his eight grandchildren Sam Centioli (Kara), Angie Lovin (Jay), Brian Kane (Carolyn), Kevin Seda Kane (Yuki), Monica Whitman (Zan), Kirsten Rogers, Erin Orth, Casey Orth. Fritz was also a great grandfather to his ten great grandchildren. He loved his family, church community, friends, and neighbors at his home at Bridge Park in West Seattle. His brother Alvin "Babe" Orth, and sister Louise Parks survive Fritz. Plus many nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. Per his request there is a private interment at Forest Lawn, but a memorial/mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (35th and SW Myrtle Street), on Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 AM.
