Dorothy "Dot" Sudkamp Obituary (1932

DOROTHY "DOT" SUDKAMP Dorothy Louise Sudkamp was born January 8th, 1932 to Joe and Gertrude Sudkamp in Cottonwood, Idaho. She passed away on May 25th, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. Dorothy grew up in Cottonwood, ID. Her first job was at Our Lady of Consolation Hospital at the age of fifteen. She graduated from St. Gertrude's Academy in 1950. She went on study at Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, graduating in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. Dorothy dedicated her life to nursing working in hospitals in Cottonwood, ID, Boston, MA, Rochester, MN, Portland, OR and finally to Seattle working at Cabrini Hospital and for 25 years with the Sisters of Providence. Dot took great enjoyment in cooking/baking, shopping, sewing, crafting, furniture refinishing and many other artistic endeavors. She also enjoyed traveling, skiing and numerous trips back to Cottonwood to see family and friends. She always considered Cottonwood as home. Dot will be dearly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, MaryJane and Cliff Arnzen (Cottonwood). She was a gracious aunt to Colleen (Owen) Edwards, Jeanene (David) deAvila, Keith, Craig and a kind great aunt to Nicole, Angie, Hope and Nathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ray, and a sister, Mary Jo. She had a strong faith in God and looks forward to being reunited with family and friends. A Funeral Mass will becelebrated Saturday, June 22nd, at 2:00 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ballard, WA. A graveside service will be at the Cottonwood Catholic Cemetery in Cottonwood, ID at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24th, 2013. Cheerio Dot!!!
