Sr. Constance "Connie" Anne Krieger, Csjp

Sister Constance (Connie) Krieger, CSJP was born in Olympia WA on November 28, 1927 to G. Edward and Eleanor Krieger. She was the eldest in a family of five, three brothers and one sister.

In 1949 Connie joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in Bellingham, WA. In her beginning ministry she taught music in parish schools in Corvallis, OR and Bellevue, WA. Her interests and talents quickly led her to the world of science, receiving a B.S. in Natural Science from Seattle University. Connie spent 11 years at Holy Name and St. James Hospitals in New Jersey as a medical technologist.

Upon returning to the Northwest in 1967 she earned her R.N. in Eugene, OR. For the next 15 years she served at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. In 1983 Connie began providing nursing services to the residents of the Josephinum, a residence for elders in downtown Seattle. She then joined the staff at the long-term care facility, Marianwood, in Issaquah, WA where her organizational skills and warm, caring manner were a blessing to residents and staff alike.

In retirement, Connie continued to reach out to her community of sisters, friends and family members, offering support in times of need and warm hospitality. In 2018 she moved to at St. Mary-on-the-Lake, Bellevue, where everyone appreciated her sense of humor and peaceful presence.

Reflecting on her 70 years in community Connie said: "I'm grateful that I am a sister of St. Joseph of Peace - it is what I always wanted to be...thank you to the sisters for allowing so many of us the freedom to pursue the work and ideas that are in our hearts."

Connie is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Vigil Service will be held on

Tuesday, November 12th, at 4:00pm

A Mass of Christian Burial will be

Wednesday, November 13th at 11:00am

BOTH will be held at

St. Mary-on-the-Lake
