Connie Aronson, 89, died December 7, 2010 surrounded by his family. Born in Albert City, IA September 17, 1921. Connie, sixth of nine children, grew up on the family farm in Albert City during the depression. He learned hard work, had a "can do" attitude and could fix anything mechanical. During WWII, Connie was in the US Army Air Corps, a mechanic on P38's stationed in Attu, Alaska.
After the war and discharged in Seattle, he met his beautiful wife Betty to whom he was married for 61 years. He started C "Connie" Aronson, Inc. in Seattle in 1963 as a representative for Best Lock, responsible for Washington, Alaska and Idaho. He retired and turned the business over to his sons in 1989. For years Connie was an active member of the West Seattle Rotary where he loved selling strawberries and Christmas shopping for needy children. He was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church serving as an elder, in the Sunday School and sang in the choir for over 30 years. Connie had a contagious smile, a hearty laugh and a passion for helping others. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Karol; sons, Paul (Kris) and Philip (Susan) Aronson. His favorite things in retirement were traveling around the world with Betty, raising roses in his garden and spoiling his four granddaughters Kristina, Erika, Karlee, and Andrea. Connie will be greatly missed but we know he is with His Lord. There will be a viewing at the Howden-Kennedy Funeral Home on Monday, December 20 from 5:30PM-8PM and a memorial service celebrating Connie's life will be held Tuesday, December 21 at 1:00pm at West Side Presbyterian Church, 3601 California Avenue SW.
