Claro Mario Nucum Obituary (1954

He graduated from Terra Bella Elementary School, Monache High School in 1974 and later attended University of Washington with his GI Bill following 2 years in the US Navy. He later worked for Kenworth Truck Company and Sweden Freezer Company as a draftsman. He also owned a video store and travel agency. At the age of 18, Larry joined the US Navy where he served in the USS Kittyhawk until 1977. After discharge from the navy, he moved to Washington, where he met and married Miriam Montoya in October of 1978. They settled in Seattle, WA where they raised their two sons, Lowell Myron and Lester James. Larry was an avid sports fan and active in his church. He enjoyed bowling, traveling and cooking for friends and family. Above all, his greatest passion was his family and his brothers and sisters, who will miss his wonderful sense of humor and warmth. He was a loving and very giving brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He shall be greatly missed. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jose B. Nucum in 2006, a Terra Bella Elementary School teacher and Secondina Ramirez Nucum in 1996, a psychiatric technician, both from Terra Bella, California. Also his brother, Jesus in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Nucum, his two sons, Lowell (Melca) of San Francisco, and Lester of Seattle. He also leaves behind 5 brothers in Central California: Jim (Victoria), Angelito (Renate), and David (Petra) of Porterville; Joe (Marissa) of Terra Bella and Daniel of Castaic, California. He also have 3 sisters in Southern California: Rose Marie (Jose Gonzales) of Walnut, Claudine (Dennis Hersh) and Joseline of Ontario. He also leaves behind his 12 nephews and one niece and many other close relatives in Terra Bella and Porterville. A family celebration of his life will be held on March 8, 2008 at Columbia Funeral Home in Seattle, WA. and a graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Park, Renton, WA.
