Seattle, Washington
She was born on January 7, 1940 to her parents F.P. and Mary Santulli. Betty graduated from St. George Elementary School and later from Cleveland High School in 1958 where she was valedictorian. She lived her entire life in the Beacon Hill area of Seattle. Upon graduation from high school she turned down a scholarship to the University of Washington and chose to work for the Boeing Company where within a year she rose to be an executive secretary in the office of President William Allen. Betty married Jim on June 24, 1961 at St. George Catholic Church.
She is survived by Jim, her devoted husband of 49 years. She was the beloved mother of Lisa (Charles) Jensen and Jim (Kristin) Yurina and sister of Paul (Patricia) Santulli. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Anthony (22), Alyssa (20), Alexis (16), and Ashley (13) Jensen; and Tyler (13), Haley (9), and Chase (6) Yurina.
Betty was always involved in the many activities of her grandchildren. She loved them dearly. Betty will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew her. She was a loving and caring lady who always had a bright smile on her face and enjoyed being your friend. She was very thoughtful by remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions of her family and friends. She loved flowers and every spring and summer her yard was a sea of glorious color for all to enjoy. She was a source of love and strength for everyone who knew her and will be remembered for her devout faith, her gracious nature and her courageous fight against cancer.
Her family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional care given by Dr. Henry Kaplan and the nurses at the Swedish Cancer Institute Treatment Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to the Kaplan Research Fund at Swedish Medical Center Foundation, 747 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122 or online at www.swedishfoundation.org.
