Betty Jane Bellessa

Passed away September 30, 2010 in Seattle, WA surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Montesano, WA on February 8, 1924 to George and Jane Crowell.

Betty spent her early years in Aberdeen, WA graduating from Weatherwax High School. She then relocated to Seattle where she met the love of her life a" John Bellessa. They were married in 1950.

Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, trips to the ocean, cheering on the Seahawks and spending time with family and friends. Her business life centered on retail jewelry sales in the West Seattle community. Her career was consistent with her life's mission a" trying to bring beauty and joy into the life of others.

Betty is survived by her sons, Mike Kirk (Mary), Stuart 'Buzz' Bellessa (Joan), a sister Julie Watling, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband John of 58 years, her mother Jane, step-father John Nicman, a brother Bill Crowell, a sister Irene Betts and a son Steven.

Services will be held Thursday, October 14 at First Lutheran Church of West Seattle 4105 California Avenue SW beginning at 11:30 AM.
