Bertha Lucille (Shumaker/ Davison) Dalton Obituary (1928 - 2021)

Born November 19, 1928 in Strodes Mills to Mabel Miller Shumaker and H. Wayne Shumaker. She crossed over July 22, 2021 in Edmonds, WA, where she was living with her son and family. She was the sister of Gene Shumaker, H. Wayne "Skip" Shumaker, and Marietta (Shumaker) Harpster. Valedictorian of her Lewistown class, she went on to marry James W. Davison of Yeagertown and lived in the Pocono Mountains until his death in 1969. She married Fritz Dalton of Buck Hill Falls, PA in 1972. She was a loving sister, wife, and mother and an Executive Assistant during her professional career. She's survived by her son Michael and spouse Cecelia Davison; as well as granddaughters, Tara Janicki of Seattle, Cyann Snowden of Whitefish, MT, Leah Stewart of Stamford, CT, Taylor Davison of Seattle, and six great grandchildren. An open house will be held at the Heller Funeral home for anyone wanting to pay their respects. Please check back for date and time. She will be interned next to her husband James W. Davison and near her father, mother, brothers, and sister in Juniata Memorial Park. Bertha (Bertie) will be fondly remembered for her giving spirit and innate ability to make and keep lifelong friends.
